Performance Insight helps organizations clarify what they stand for, translate values into everyday behavior, and turn employee insight into focused action that strengthens culture and engagement.

From Insight to Impact

Healthier cultures take shape when employee insight clarifies priorities, aligns leadership behavior, activates shared commitments, and reinforces what matters every day.

When Culture or Engagement Needs Focused Attention

Support matched to the organization’s moment.

Culture and engagement work can clarify shared values, turn employee feedback into action, or help leaders strengthen the everyday experiences that shape trust and performance.

Clarifying or Refreshing Core Values

Create shared clarity about what the organization stands for.

When existing values no longer reflect the organization’s identity or future direction, engage employees and leaders in defining a focused, authentic set of values and the observable behaviors that bring them to life.

Bringing Values to Life

Move values from words on a page to everyday behavior.

Translate values into clear expectations and embed them into hiring, onboarding, recognition, performance reviews, leadership expectations, coaching, and development.

Responding to Engagement or Trust Concerns

Turn employee feedback into visible, credible action.

Use existing engagement results, employee listening, and focus groups to identify what is shaping the employee experience, then equip leaders to address the issues affecting trust, voice, development, retention, and engagement.

Strengthening Culture Through Growth or Change

Keep people aligned as the organization evolves.

Help leaders clarify expectations, strengthen communication, and reinforce consistent practices when growth, transition, or changing business demands risk fragmenting the culture.

Culture & Employee Engagement in Practice

Culture changes when insight becomes everyday practice.

These two examples show how a comprehensive culture initiative and focused leadership development can each strengthen what employees experience day to day.

Employee Engagement & Leader Practices · Manufacturing

Equipping Leaders to Strengthen Employee Engagement

The situation

A manufacturing organization was responding to disappointing engagement survey results and a significant increase in voluntary turnover. Employee feedback revealed a particularly important concern: people did not believe their voices mattered or that leaders followed through on their ideas and concerns.

The partnership

Through the two-part Driving Employee Engagement workshop, Performance Insight helped leaders use SBI feedback to show others their impact, strengthen active listening both in the moment and through follow-up, and provide more consistent coaching and development. Real-work experiments and manager talking points reinforced application after each session.

The impact

Leaders and managers reported meaningful behavior changes, followed by improved engagement survey results and reduced turnover. The broader leadership program expanded from two workshops to six, continued into a fourth year, and incorporated specific leadership practices into annual objectives.

Direct Senior-Practitioner Partnership

Work directly with Dr. Steve Morgan.

Steve works directly with the organizational sponsor and leadership team—from discovery and employee listening through clarification, action planning, leader application, reinforcement, and impact. He brings an organizational psychology perspective to connecting what employees say with patterns in leadership behavior, organizational practices, and the business context.

Employee Voice and Leadership Ownership

Listen broadly. Build ownership where it matters.

Employees help illuminate the lived culture through surveys, focus groups, and interviews. Leaders remain accountable for making sense of what is heard, choosing priorities, and following through. Steve helps create a process that gives employees a meaningful voice without creating expectations the organization is not prepared to fulfill.

Employee Insight in Service of Action

Listening is only useful when it leads somewhere.

Performance Insight works from clients’ existing engagement survey results and may supplement them with targeted interviews or focus groups. The goal is not simply to collect more data. It is to understand the patterns, focus attention on what will make the greatest difference, and translate insight into clear actions and leadership practices.

A Process Built Around the Organization’s Priorities

A clear process, adapted to the need.

A focused engagement may begin with existing survey results or a specific leadership need, while a comprehensive values initiative may use the complete process. These four connected phases provide structure without forcing every organization through the same sequence.

Listen and understand

Use sponsor discovery, employee listening, focus groups, interviews, and relevant existing data to understand the culture, employee experience, business context, and readiness for change.

Clarify and define

Identify the themes and priorities that matter most. For values work, clarify the core values and observable behaviors; for engagement work, define the issues leaders must address and the outcomes they want to create.

Align and activate

Build leadership ownership, agree on focused actions, and align communication, organizational practices, and expectations so the work moves beyond discussion.

Equip and reinforce

Give leaders practical tools, workshops, real-work experiments, and reinforcement that help them model the desired culture, respond to employee feedback, and sustain progress over time.

Culture and Engagement Work Should Change Everyday Experience

The work should be visible in how the organization operates.

Values and engagement plans matter only when leaders act differently, employees experience meaningful follow-through, and organizational practices reinforce the same expectations.

  • Clearer shared expectations for how work gets done and how people treat one another

  • Core values translated into observable behaviors and embedded into organizational practices

  • Leaders listening more actively, responding visibly, and closing the loop on employee input

  • More consistent coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and accountability

  • Greater employee trust, voice, engagement, and connection to the organization

  • Observable movement in relevant measures such as engagement results, voluntary turnover, or adoption of desired practices
